ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Frank.
I’m a photographer and filmmaker from Holland. I follow the seasons: surf camps in summer, ski towns in winter, and along the way the people who make those places special.
HOW IT STARTED
Growing up, I was always drawn to travellers who came home with incredible pictures. When my parents gave me my first little camera, I started doing the same, and I’ve never really put it down since.
WHY THESE PLACES
Surf camps and hostels are where I feel most like myself. Out in nature, surrounded by new people, every day brings something worth capturing. The light and the setting do half the work. My part is to be there when it happens.
THE VAN
From summer 2027, I’ll be living in my van. That way I can go wherever the work is, stay as long as a place needs, and always have my gear with me.
PEOPLE
I try to capture what makes someone who they are. For me, that’s what makes a photo good.
I don’t direct much. I hang out, talk, join in with whatever is going on, and after a while people forget I’m holding a camera. That’s when the real moments happen.
ON A DAY OFF
You’ll find me surfing, editing, or driving around looking for the next spot to shoot. Honestly, it doesn’t feel that different from working.
Know a place I should see?
Have a story to tell?
Let’s make people feel it.
